A History Of The Octagon

The Octagon, named after the popular shape the octagon, was created as a forum for arguments on the message boards of the Epic Alternative Webcomic A Lesson is Learned but the Damage is Irreversible1.

After those boards closed in 2006, Aaron Diaz brought the concept over to his new home at the Koala Wallop forum as a subforum for the Dresden Codak discussion: The Octagon was reborn as a place for scientific, religious, and other controversial arguments, so as to keep them out of the regular comic discussion.

In 2009 Dresden Codak left the Koala Wallop coalition, leaving The Octagon as part of the Koala Wallop boards by itself.
